Flavor of India, the first Indian restaurant in Cranberry Twp, PA, began 13 years ago as a humble catering service based out of one home kitchen. Today, we have grown into a full-fledged fine dine-in restaurant and catering business. Our staff collectively has over 50 years of experience in providing authentic Indian taste.

Enjoy our famous grand buffets on weekends with plenty of food and verity to choose from. We offer free internet wireless access at the restaurant.

In a land so rich in cultural heritage, it is but natural that Indian cuisine is multifarious, offering a delight to both the eye and palate. Its myriad flavors and cooking traditions find their roots in its historical influences. The Mughals revolutionized the art of Indian cooking with their delectable "biryanis", (an exquisite oven preparation with meat/ vegetables, herbs and seasonings), "kormas" (a spicy meat or vegetarian preparation), kebabs and tikkas (meat and vegetables cooked in small pieces, usually on skewers) made in a "tandoor" (oven made of mud and heated by a slow charcoal fire).

In India, cooking is an art and a tradition handed down from generation to generation, from mother to daughter. Until the advent of cook books, all cookery instruction was oral and practical and, whereas certain items like dals, flour and rice were measured, important flavoring ingredients (like spices and masalas) were added according to individual judgment.

UNITED STATES & INDIAN FOOD CULINARY EXPERIENCE
Different regions in India offer their own specialties with their very own taste, subtlety and aroma. The country's vast reservoir of spices made from its abundance of tropical herbs, serves as garnishing and contains medicinal and preservative properties. India's range of the Indian cuisine can amaze even a connoisseur.

Today, Indian COOKING has become acknowledged far and wide, and is considered on par with Chinese, Mexican, Thai, Greek, Lebanese, and other International Cuisines. In United States, however, Indian food is primarily famous as North Indian or South Indian food. In fact, vary rarely people would get to taste the varied and rich nature that every culture in every part of India brings in. We, at Flavor of India have a passion and vision to bring that culinary experience to our customers. That is why, every weekend, we introduce items in our lunch buffets that locals have ever heard or tasted about. We are proud to be a family-owned business amongst chain and franchise restaurants, which allows us to offer truly home-style cooking.

We take pride in introducing such unique niche in the American society. This is not your typical restaurant. We want to bring in the real catering and family dining experience to our customers. You no longer need to make a trip back to India to taste the same food from different corners of India.
